RT 19, Part 1 – Let’s Make King Charles the Henry George of the 21st Century!
Roundtable 19, Part 1 Let’s Make King Charles the Henry George of the 21st Century!
Wed. May 3, 2023
These Roundtables were inspired by THE VALEDICTION by Paul Fitzgerald and Elizabeth Gould, their two-book memoir about their Fitzgerald family history and what that legacy means for building peace today.
Paul and Liz have written a proposal for World Peace, with economic justice as the foundation. Alanna Hartzok, Earth Rights visionary and United Nations NGO Representative for the International Union for Land Value Taxation, has written “An Open Letter to King Charles on his coronation” to launch the campaign to promote Paul and Liz’s Proposal.
The Proposal and the Letter can be found at Valediction.net/world-peace. Where the economics of Henry George are used, things improve. Edward Dodson, Roundtable participant, “Land value taxation is a key to affordable housing and to rebuilding distressed communities.”
Alanna Hartzok: “A couple of years ago Ellen Brown and I did a webinar on the Jubilee Justice Economics of Peace where we wove together the land problem and the money problem. Those are the two main focus points that we’re going to be continually addressing. I think that’s where the ‘Eureka’ is going to come, that the land and the money problems are seen as connected and what to do about them. It’s out of the box of right and left. It’s core. Once you starting wanting a world that works for everybody, [you must] look at the land and the money.”
